CAMP ACTIVITIES
Our program is structured to give campers the opportunity to experience each activity at camp through a rotating group program. Camp Ironwood offers a variety of activities, which may include:

ELECTIVES
Each session, campers have a chance to “dive deep” into two activities via our electives program. Electives are activity periods in which campers participate for three consecutive days. For example, a camper may choose to participate in a tennis elective for three days. By doing so, campers have an opportunity to get hands-on, in-depth instruction from our tennis Activity Counselors over several days. As a result, by receiving deeper, individualized instruction, campers improve current skills and gain new skills. Camp Ironwood offers a wide variety of electives to ensure that every camper gets to participate in an activity they love. All camp activities are co-ed and separated by age group except for elective blocks which are comprised of boys and girls from all age groups.

DISCOVERY
At Camp Ironwood, we aim to foster the holistic development of our campers. Each day, campers participate in our Discovery program, featuring a range of activities designed to enhance their social and emotional skills. Each session is guided by a specific daily value, allowing campers to broaden their minds, nurture their hearts, and strengthen their emotional intelligence.
TYPICAL DAILY SCHEDULE
Each camp day is unique, but there is a good deal of regularity to the daily program. Below is an overview of a typical day:
MORNING
Following wake-up and breakfast, the camp comes together for Morning Summit. At Morning Summit, we do cheers, introduce the value of the day, make announcements, review the schedule, and get excited for the day ahead!
After Morning Summit, each group goes to three morning activities, including Discovery. Discovery blocks are geared toward self-discovery through group activities and offer campers a chance to reflect on the intention of the day and the experiences they are having.
AFTERNOON
Following morning activities, there is lunch and "rest hour" or quiet time to relax, read, and spend free time together.
After rest hour comes a fourth group activity, followed by intensives. Intensives are activity periods that allow campers to focus on a single activity over three days and develop their skill set in that area.
After intensives, there is a brief wash-up and free play period, when campers have the opportunity to choose between four activities, followed by dinner.
EVENING
After dinner, the whole camp comes together for Evening Summit, which includes a nightly awards ceremony, during which we recognize campers for their outstanding contributions throughout the day.
Evening Summit is followed by an evening activity, which will range from talent shows and sports tournaments to campfires and dance battles.
Each day closes with some free dorm time before lights out.
While this represents a brief portrait, there is far too much going on to describe on paper. There will be hikes and excursions, exciting all-camp events, and fun and engaging activities for campers and team members to enjoy!

SPECIAL DAYS
There are a few Special Days at Camp Ironwood. On a Special Day, there is a special program which takes the place of campers’ regular activities. Campers may go on out-of-camp trips to amusement and water parks, baseball games, and other scenic destinations near camp. Campers will just have to wait and see what these days entail!
